Roadmap
Now is what the extension does today. Next is what we are building. Later is where it goes. Everything here is a capability, not a date.
Chrome and Edge — Windows app planned
Now
- Capture a task in one tab: every click, selection and entry becomes a labelled step with a screenshot. Typed values are never stored, only the field labels.
- Manual screenshot steps and notes alongside the recorded ones.
- Permanent black-box redaction, plus blur and pixelate, applied during or after capture; automatic pause on sign-in and payment pages.
- HTML guide export with a print-ready layout, and a session package export.
- Test-evidence fields per step: expected result, actual result, outcome.
Next
- Review tools: rename, reorder, merge and split steps; notes and section headings.
- Smart redaction suggestions and a guide health check before export.
- Crop, arrows, boxes, numbered markers and callouts; auto-crop to the area that matters.
- Markdown export, copy as text for a chatbot, and export size control.
- Word, PDF and PowerPoint documents with a title page, table of contents and page numbers.
- Document-control fields: owner, status, next review date, version history.
- Backup and restore of the library to a file.
Later
- Paste a guide anywhere: into a wiki, a ticket or an email, pictures included.
- Guide templates: a saved title block, sections and branding.
- The session package the extension exports is designed to be read by the planned SnipSteps Windows application.
The blog and the changelog are live; the rest of this column is being built.
