Accessibility statement
This statement covers the SnipSteps website. It is written under the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) and follows the structure of the harmonised standard EN 301 549.
The standard
The site aims at the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, which EN 301 549 uses for web content.
Conformance status
The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: the parts listed under known limitations do not fully conform. Every page is checked in an automated accessibility scan (axe) and by keyboard on each change before it is released, at desktop and phone widths and with reduced motion.
How the site is built for access
- Every control can be reached and operated with the keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
- Every animation honours the operating system's reduced-motion setting and has a static end state.
- The living stage on the home page announces each step to screen readers through a live region, and every stage control is named.
- Colour contrast meets the AA ratios on every theme; no information is carried by colour alone.
- Forms label every field, tie each error to its field, and move focus to the first error.
- The site sets no cookies and shows no banner, so nothing interrupts assistive technology on arrival.
Known limitations
- The home page's living stage is a demonstration of the product driven by the pointer; the same steps and the outputs they produce are available as text beside it and on the product page, but the demonstration itself cannot be performed with a screen reader.
- The snip overlay (drawing a rectangle over the page) is a pointer gesture; its result — a captured region — is also produced by the page's own step panel without drawing.
- The visit chip counts up while you interact unless reduced motion is set, and its live region announces new steps; this can be more talkative than some readers prefer. It can be dismissed.
- Screenshots of the fictional apps are images with text; their content is described in the surrounding text but not transcribed word for word.
