The extension stores each screenshot on the device when the step is captured and redacts it when the user asks, in the side panel while capturing or on the review page afterwards. A black box then replaces those pixels in the stored picture; the original pixels are not kept. Blur and pixelate (paid) obscure rather than remove, and the product says so.
Licence terms
- No account is needed to buy or use SnipSteps.
- Licence keys are checked on your device, not online.
- One named user: up to three browser profiles for the Browser package.
- Anyone who opens an exported guide never needs a licence, and that will hold for the planned Word, PDF and PowerPoint exports.
- If an update window ends and you do not renew, everything you already made stays readable, editable and exportable.
- Personal and commercial use are both allowed in every paid tier.
- Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to export or send it.
