Record a task you do anyway
Start a capture, do the task in one tab, stop. Each click, selection and entry on a supported site becomes a step with a screenshot of the page.
SnipSteps records the clicks you make in one browser tab and turns them into a step-by-step guide with screenshots. Stored on your device. No account.

Get the Browser package earlyStart a capture, do the task in one tab, stop. Each click, selection and entry on a supported site becomes a step with a screenshot of the page.
Each step is named from the control you used — its label, a nearby caption or a table header. What you typed is never stored, only the field's label.
Place a black box over anything sensitive during or after capture; the pixels are replaced in the stored picture. Blur and pixelate are in the Browser package.
Export the guide as an HTML page; the Browser package adds a print-ready layout. Markdown export is planned for everyone; Word, PDF and PowerPoint exports are planned for the Browser package.
Everything the extension makes stays in the browser profile it ran in. The privacy page says what the optional usage counts hold and what they never hold.
The free extension captures, labels, redacts and exports HTML. The Browser package adds the rest; rows marked planned are not built yet.
